Non-surgical BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) treatments using dermal filler have become one of the most popular ways to enhance curves, add volume, and shape the glutes without surgery or downtime. But to get the best outcome, aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself.

Whether this is your first injectable BBL or a top-up session, following the correct aftercare will help reduce swelling, avoid complications, and maximise your results.

What Is BBL Filler?

Unlike surgical BBLs, which use fat transfer, non-surgical BBL treatments involve strategically injecting body filler to enhance shape, volume, and symmetry in the buttocks and hip dips. The results are immediate but improve over time as swelling subsides and the product integrates into the tissue.

What to Expect After BBL Injections

Following your treatment, you may experience:

  • Swelling and mild bruising in the treated areas

  • Tenderness or firmness at injection points

  • A feeling of tightness or pressure during the first few days

  • Visible results immediately, with final outcome settling over 2–4 weeks

All of these are normal and part of the healing process.

BBL Filler Aftercare Instructions

To ensure optimal results and avoid shifting the product, follow these key aftercare steps:

1. Avoid pressure on the area Do not sit directly on your buttocks for at least 48–72 hours. Use a BBL cushion or sit with weight shifted to your thighs to minimise pressure.

2. Sleep on your stomach or side Try to avoid sleeping on your back for the first week to help prevent product migration and allow even healing.

3. Stay hydrated Drinking plenty of water helps support your body as it adjusts to the filler and can improve the longevity of your results.

4. Avoid alcohol and exercise for 48 hours Alcohol thins the blood and may increase bruising, while strenuous workouts can elevate inflammation and disrupt settling.

5. Skip hot environments Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds, and hot baths for at least 5–7 days post-treatment, as heat can increase swelling.

6. No massage unless advisedDo not massage the area unless specifically instructed by your practitioner. Filler needs time to integrate naturally.

When Will My BBL Results Settle?

Swelling can take 2 to 3 weeks to fully subside. During this time, your shape may fluctuate slightly—this is normal. You’ll begin to see your final result once the filler has fully settled, usually by week 4. If you're booked in for a two-part treatment or a top-up session, we recommend allowing a minimum of 4 weeks between appointments to properly assess how your body has responded.

When to Contact Your Practitioner

While complications are rare, you should get in touch if you experience:

  • Severe or increasing pain

  • Skin discolouration (white, grey, or dark patches)

  • Signs of infection (fever, warmth, or pus)

  • Lumps or firmness that feel hard or hot to touch

Final Thoughts

BBL filler offers a powerful, non-surgical way to enhance your shape—but results depend heavily on how you care for your body after the treatment. By following the right aftercare routine, you’re protecting your investment and giving your body the best chance to heal beautifully.
